Step by Step Dragon Drawing Instructions
Step 1
Start by drawing the head. This shape is easy to master – it’s like you would draw a pear laying flat on the ground. It doesn’t have to be perfect either.
Step 2
Next it’s time to draw the horns and bottom part of the mouth. One of the horns will go through the shape you previously drawn and that’s OK, we’ll “fix” that without the need of eraser.
Step 3
Draw the lines on the horns to give them some texture (and cover up the line). Also draw a nostril and one eye.
Step 4
Draw a curve starting from the head. Draw one smaller front leg and a hind leg that is a little bigger.
Step 5
Starting from the head, draw a curved line all the way to the first leg. Now continue the line, starting from the other end of the front leg all the way to the hind one. Last, draw a curved line from the hind leg and all the way to the top curved line.
Step 6
Add another set of legs. Draw the finishing touch on the tail.
Also start on drawing the wing.
Step 7
From the wing, draw two curved lines.
Another curved line goes across the body to make the belly of the dragon.
Step 8
Finish up the wings by drawing more curved lines.
Step 9
Almost done. Draw another wing in the back.
Step 10
All there is left to do is to draw the lines on the belly, add a couple of circles on the body for more texture if you wish and draw flames coming out of the mouth of the dragon.
Step 11
You’ve learned how to draw a dragon! Congratulations! Now all there is left to do is to color in the dragon as you see fit.
