This Thanksgiving, our turkey decided to don the uniform of a police officer, expressing admiration for the dedicated men and women who uphold the values of justice and safety. With feathers ruffled into a makeshift uniform, this turkey aimed to highlight the importance and appreciation of those who serve.

How to Make a Policeman or Policewoman Turkey in Disguise
What you need:
- our police officer turkey disguise printout (you can grab this one for free at the end of the tutorial or you can get a whole set with over 25 character outfits)
- coloring supplies – markers are great, crayons or coloring pens can also be used
- scissors and glue
The best type of paper for this one is heavier print paper or cardstock, but using regular print paper works out pretty great as well.
Step by Step Tutorial
You can just make the disguised turkey (you will just need the printout with the turkey outline and accessories), but we feel this project really shines if you make it in a way that the disguise can be quickly put on and taken off with a simple flip of the paper.
Print out the sheet with the “I am not a turkey, I am…” and have the kids color it. This one should look like a regular turkey without a disguise.
Print another sheet with the turkey outline. This is where we’ll make the policeman/policewoman disguise. We decided our turkey will go full-on with their disguise. To look like a human we colored the body and the head in skin tone.
You can leave the feather tails white, or you could also have the kids color them in green to look like a bush.
Next, have the kids color the uniform parts.
Cut out the uniform parts and the turkey outline.
Apply glue on disguise parts and stick them on the turkey.
Dark sunglasses are a must!
Now take the sheet with the regular looking turkey and fold along the dashed line at the bottom.
Apply a small amount of glue just bellow the turkey.
And stick your police officer turkey in disguise on the folded part. Make sure it’s neatly aligned with the regular turkey underneath.
All done!
