This project can be made at home (it’s a fun family activity), or it can be made in the classroom. If you regularly make turkey in disguise projects in the classroom as a send-home activity, you already know it’s good to have some low-prep ones at hand for kids who forget theirs at home. Pair this one with our mermaid turkey in disguise or even a snowman turkey for even more fun.
Now, what makes this one special, you might ask? Well, with our unicorn disguise, the turkey can put it on or take it down in a matter of seconds. Kids will absolutely love this! One second, a turkey, the next, the turkey is cleverly disguised as an unicorn.

- colorins supplies

Step by Step Tutorial
Print out the disguise a turkey as a unicorn printable template. There are various printouts (the simple instructions on different versions are included in the PDF). We’ll show you one way on how you can use the template.
Print the sheet that has the I am not a turkey, I am… text on it as well as one regular turkey template. Also print the sheet with unicorn accessories.
The sheet with the text should be colored to look like a regular turkey without a disguise.
The other sheet will be used as a disguise. To make our unicorn turkey disguise, we colored the feathers in rainbow colors, fitting for a unicorn. We didn’t color the body as our unicorn will be white.
The turkey’s tail could also be colored all green to make it look like a bush or a forest.
Let the kids color in the accessories.
Cut out the accessories and the turkey outline (the one the kids colored to be an unicorn).
Now glue the disguise on the turkey.
Hide the turkey feet with unicorn legs.
A horn and some flowers are a must.
Take the sheet with the regular-looking turkey. There is a dashed line at the bottom. Fold along that line.
Apply glue on the fold, just on the area below the turkey’s belly.
Now take the turkey in a unicorn disguise and stick it on top, align it with the turkey on the bottom, so that it completely covers it.
All done and now let’s see the magic.
I am not a turkey, I am an unicorn! Or well, a turkey if the disguise comes off.
