Pop art is a fun and colorful style of art that started in the 1950s and 1960s. It uses bright colors and bold designs to make everyday objects look exciting and interesting.
Artists in the Pop art movement were inspired by things they saw in popular culture, like comic books, advertisements, and famous celebrities. They wanted to show that art could be found in the things people saw every day, not just in fancy museums. And now we’ll capture this with handprint art.
One of the most famous Pop artists was Andy Warhol, who made paintings of soup cans and pictures of famous people like Marilyn Monroe.
Another well-known Pop artist was Roy Lichtenstein, who made big paintings that looked like comic book panels. Keith Haring was also an important Pop artist, known for his bright, colorful drawings and murals that often featured dancing figures and bold lines. Pop art is all about having fun with colors and shapes.

Place the palm on the paper and trace it with pencil.
Round up the bottom of the handprint so you only have the palm outline.
Trace the pencil line with a bold black marker.
Draw the creases on the fingers using the black marker.
Have kids look at their palm and try to draw the creases matching their own.
Take a paper square (aim for contrast and close to contrast colors).
Make white dots. Use round sponge dabber to make the dots or use fingerprints for an even more personal project.
Allow the paint to dry.
Apply glue on the back of the handprint and glue it onto the painted paper.
Prepare the background (white cardstock is perfect).
Glue the blue square with the palm handprint to the upper left corner of the larger paper.
Repeat steps to create additional palm prints on different colored paper.
