How to Make Pasta Necklaces

Learn how to make pasta necklaces, a great activity if you happen to have any pasta that’s past it’s “use before” date.

When it comes to pasta necklaces we think it’s best that kids get to decorate their own pasta beads, so these are not pre-colored.

Do you like pasta? What are your favorite pasta shapes? We really like the spiral ones, they are super yummy. 

Any pasta that has a hole in the middle can also be used as a cool bead for the coolest DIY bracelet.

How awesome is that?

How to Make Pasta Necklaces

What you need:

• pasta tubes
• stretch yarn
• acrylic colors of your choice
• wooden beads of your choice (optional)
• brush
• scissors

Let’s craft!

Step by Step Instructions

 

Start painting the pasta with acrylic color (we used a red one for this project). Roll them in paint or use a paintbrush.

You can color your pasta in whatever colors you choose and you can use whatever pasta shapes you like.

You can add details using a brush like spots and stripes and triangles. Use your creativity.

Measure the proper length of yarn for your necklace.

After that, start threading one pasta tube, then add two beads and continue repeating this step …

… until you have no space to thread more pasta on the yarn.

You can cut a longer piece of yarn and thread pasta tubes over and over so you make a longer necklace that you can wrap around your neck a few times.

Tie a firm knot at the end.

You are all done! You’ve just learned how to make pasta necklaces.
