How to Make the Chicken Handprint Art
What you need:
- white paper or cardstock
- pencil
- black marker
- colored markers or crayons
Step by Step Tutorial
Start with a sheet of white paper or cardstock and have kids trace their left hand on the left side of the paper.
Finish the bottom part of the handprint outline with the pencil.
Flip the hand so the palm faces them and trace the right hand on the right side of the paper.
Again, finish the bottom part of the handprint outline with the pencil.
Make sure both handprints face each other, with the thumbs almost touching.
Use a black marker to trace the first handprint.
Draw a chicken’s comb, wattle, beak, wing, an eye, and two feet.
Do the same for the second handprint to create a rooster.
Color the wattle and comb red.
Draw scalloped lines on the rooster’s body to create separate feathers.
Have kids color the feathers in various bright colors.
Color both beaks orange or yellow.
Have children fill the rooster’s body with light brown and the wing with darker brown.
Your chicken handprint craft is ready to display!
Now you have two adorable chickens to brighten up any space!
You can make a whole farmyard of chickens and roosters!
Happy crafting!
