Whether you’re looking for a fun activity to do with your child or you want to spend quality time together, this DIY Memory Game is ideal.
Putting this activity together is fun for kids because they get to draw their artwork!
How to Make This DIY Memory Game
What you need:
- cardboard (beige, blue)
- cardboard papers
- scissors
- glue stick
- pencil
- ruler
- markers
Gather all of your materials as shown.
This activity is great because you don’t need too many items.
Step by Step Tutorial
Cut out a square of cardboard paper.
Then out a square the same size as the cardboard from the beige and blue cardboard paper.
On the blue square, draw 4 x 4 equal squares.
Then cut in each window at its bottom, top, and right side – so the window can open from the right to the left side.
Be careful not to cut out the whole square – it has to keep the left side untouched!
Trace the cardboard onto the beige paper.
Glue the beige sheet onto the cardboard.
Place the blue sheet on top.
Now draw in the position of the windows.
Draw the memory pairs in the windows. You can have a lot of fun with this step.
Each window, you’ll want to have a match, so keep this in mind as you draw.
This memory game has an example of fruits as the matching items, but you can draw whatever you like.
Glue the blue cardboard paper.
The square windows should be able to open.
As you can see, when you open the little doors, your child can find the matching pairs!
The result is a colorful array of artwork that you and your child will enjoy doing together.
This DIY Memory Game will keep your child busy for a while.
However, it’s also entertaining because making the game is half the fun!
You can choose any color papers you want.
And make as many memory games with different items inside.
Have fun improving your memory skills while having fun!
