DIY Paper Plate Tiger Craft

How to Make the Paper Plate Tiger Craft

What You Need:

  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • paper plate
  • white paper
  • pink colored paper
  • black paper
  • orange paint
  • paintbrush
  • black marker

Step by Step Tutorial

You will need one paper plate to make one tiger like ours.

Step 1

You can star by drawing a half circle like shape on the bottom of the paper plate, to mark where the paper plate will be painted, and which part to leave white.

Paint the top part with orange paint.

Let the paint dry.

Step 2

Have kids cut out a snout-like shape from white paper and glue it to the center of the tiger’s head where the orange and white parts meet.

Step 3

Make paper circles for the eyes and glue them onto the paper plate.

Step 4

Draw a black circle inside the white one, to make the pupils.

You can also have the kids use large googly eyes.

Step 5

Have them color the giant black circle, leaving the smaller one white for an eye gloss effect.

Step 6

Repeat the steps for the other eye.

Step 7

Have kids start adding triangular stripes with a black marker beginning at the top of the head.

They can also paint these with black paint (although using thick black markers is a little bit easier).

Step 8

Make the stripes on the side of the head as well.

Step 9

Then, have them draw a nose and playful whisker spots.

Step 10

To create the ears, have them cut and glue black and pink papers for an inner and outer ear.

Step 11

Then, glue them to the back of the tiger’s head.

Step 12

Ta-da!
