How to Draw Castle Step by Step

What you need:

• our printable drawing guide (optional)
• pencil or black marker
• paper

Step by Step Castle Drawing Instructions

Step 1

Start by drawing a square shape (make sure it’s big enough as this will be the front of our castle).

Step 2

Next, draw two rectangle shapes, one on each side of the square you drew.

Step 3

Draw an arch for the front gate.

Also, draw trapezoid-like shapes above each of the rectangles.

Step 4

Draw another arch inside the first one. This will define our front gates even more.

Next, draw the top walls (these are called battlements).

Step 5

Add more details to the front gate. Draw vertical lines (and leave it as is if you want this to be a draw bridge or draw an ellipse for a door knob if you want this to be a door).

Step 6

Let’s make a couple of towers! Draw rectangles on top of the battlements.

Step 7

Add a triangle-shaped roof on each of the towers.

Step 8

Add flags on top of each roof.

Each tower also gets one simple window.

Step 9

It’s time to finish up the drawing with some texture. Draw scalloped lines on the roof.

Randomly draw rectangles to make the bricks on the castle.

Step 10

All done! You know how to draw a castle now, so the only thing left to do is to color it in.
