Feaf art projects for kids are one of the best fall activities you can do with your kids. Plan a walk in nature, and collect leaves from various trees. This is also a perfect opportunity to talk about the various kinds of trees. While we used leaves only for these, you can also use branches from coniferous trees – some projects will even look better that way.

How to Make Fall Leaf Art With Printable Prompts

  • printable leaf art prompts
  • various leaves
  • glue (PVA glue / white school glue is great for this project)
  • scissors
  • optional: coloring supplies

Tips: it’s best to leave the leaves to dry, place them between sheets of newspaper and weigh them down. This will make them straight and will also make them last longer. But there’s nothing wrong with getting creative with fresh leaves.

Step by Step Tutorial

For this leaf art, it’s best to print the prompts on heavier print paper or cardstock, especially if you are working with younger kids as they will apply more glue and the regular print paper will wrinkle.

Pick the leaves that feel right, there are no rules, whatever feels right is right. Cut off the stems and part of the leaf if necessary.

For the first layer of leaves (if you are making more layers) you can apply the glue directly on paper.

Gently press down the leaf and wait a little for the glue to set.

For other leaves, you can apply the glue directly on the leaf.

As with the leaf before, gently press down the leaf for the glue to st.

You can play with different types of leaves and different colors. We used a different leaf for making the tip of the fox’s tail.

All done! Time to make more fall leaf art with printable prompts.
