Next in our series of bug hand puppets with templates is the buzzing bee paper hand puppet. This little fellow is really easy to make (with our without the template) and is really fun to play with.
Combined with our other bug hand puppets your kids will be able to put up quite a show.
Bees are amazing! They are extremely hard working and I’m pretty sure you and your kids already realise that without these yellow and black critters we would be in trouble.
Have a bee lesson in your classroom (especially kindergarten)? We just know this craftivity will make a fun addition to the lesson. Each child can create their own puppet and, well just imagine them all running around and buzzing.
Like it? Let’s make them!
You can grab the template for this craft at the end of this tutorial.
What you need
- our printable template – optional – (you can find it at the end of this tutorial – there are 3 different sizes)
- construction paper or regular paper (coloring supplies if you decide to colour in the template)
Optional: wiggle eye stickers

Print out templates. We printed the template on heavier print paper as we colored it with markers (they would bleed through and wrinkle regular print paper). If your kids will be using crayons to color in the template regular print paper will work out nicely.
If working with construction paper, trace the bee body parts on the construction paper. Bee body on yellow construction paper (draw the stripes with a black marker), legs on black paper, wings on light blue paper and the sting on the black paper too.
