How to Make the Rocking Paper Plate Turkey Craft
What you need:
- scissors
- glue
- paper plate
- brown paint
- paintbrush
- color paper (orange, yellow, and red)
- two googly eyes
- paper stapler (optional)
Step by Step Tutorial
The Body
We’ll start our turkey Thanksgiving craft by painting the paper plate with brown paint.
Allow the paint to dry, once dry cut the paper plate in half. One paper plate will make two turkeys!
Make a cone from one-half of the paper plate.
Use glue or paper stapler to keep it together. If using glue, you will need to hold it in place for the glue to really set.
Gently press down to flatten the cone a bit.
The Feathers
Cut thin strips of yellow and red paper (orange is welcome too).
They will serve as turkey’s feathers.
Start making loops by gluing the ends of each strip together.
After your loops are done, it’s time to attach the turkey’s feathers.
Start gluing the feathers to the back of the turkey’s paper plate body.
Firmly attach all of them.
The Face
Cut a tiny orange triangle to make a beak.
Glue on the googly eyes and the beak.
Your rocking paper plate turkey craft is done!
Kids can make another turkey with the other half of the paper plate that is already painted!
These will look amazing as part of a Thanksgiving table setting.
