Recycled crafts are the best and you can easily make a recycled cup turtle craft as having or working with kids usually means you will have a cup or two at your hand most of the time.
Any cup will do – you can use paper ones or plastic ones, they will all work out well when they are transformed into the turtle’s shell.

How to Make the Paper Cup Turtle
What you need:
- printable template
- paper or yogurt cup
- bonding primer paint
- acrylic paint (2 shades of green)
- paintbrush
- markers (black, yellow, and pink)
- pencil
- scissors
- glue stick
- color papers (green and pink)
- googly eyes
Step by Step Tutorial
Paint the yogurt glass with bonding primer.
Go ahead and paint it green when dry.
Trace the head and legs of the turtle on green paper, then cut out the pieces.
You’ll want to draw a small flower on pink paper and then take the time to cut it out.
Trace a small circle in the middle of the flower to give it a little character.
Glue the googly eyes on the head.
Take the time to draw eyelashes above the googly eyes.
Draw a smiley face!
Color the center of the flower yellow and glue it on the head.
Draw little dots on the legs and head with a blue marker.
Continue to draw the dots on the turtle’s flippers.
It may take some time, but we want to cover the turtle in dots.
Draw a hexagon shape on top of the cup.
Draw hexagons along the side.
Paint them.
Make sure the paint covers the entire shape.
Trace around the shape with a black marker.
Make a smaller version of the shape inside the hexagon.
Keep doing this until all shapes are covered.
It’s time to glue the turtle shell onto the turtle.
Press hard to make sure it stays.
The final look is this unique sea creature ready to swim for hours with you!
