How to Make Printable ZOO Animal Puppets
What you need:
- our printable template
- coloring supplies (optional)
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Print the template and have kids color the ZOO animals in their favorite colors.
With your assistance, have them cut out the animal parts from the template, improving their fine motor skills.
Prepare the parts – the elephant, its trunk, and two paper straps.
Guide the children in folding the dashed lines on two puppet finger straps.
Have the kids fold the puppet into shape, following simple steps.
Fold the top part of the animal’s head down.
Next, fold the bottom part.
Finally, fold the middle part.
The mouth is folded inward.
Assist your children in applying glue to the marked tabs and attaching them to the back side of the puppet (upper mouth part).
Repeat the step with the second trap and glue it to the puppet’s back part (to the mouth’s lower part).
Make sure to press down gently and allow the glue to dry completely.
Have the children attach the elephant’s trunk to complete their animal puppet.
Now that the puppet is ready let the kids place their fingers inside to control the animals’ mouths.
The playtime adventure can begin with their newly created ZOO animal puppets.
