How to Make the Printable Halloween Finger Puppets

What you need:

  • our printable template
  • scissors
  • glue
  • coloring supplies (optional)

Best printed on heavier print paper although they do work well with the regular print paper if your kids will be coloring them with crayons or coloring pens.

Step by Step Instructions

Print out the templates. We will show you how to make the witch – all the puppets are assembled in the same manner.

If you are working with the black and white template, have the kids color it in before they cut out the puppet. This will make things easier.

Once the puppet is colored in, cut out the template – either by following the dashed line (great for younger kids) or cutting directly along the puppet outline (great for older kids).

Also, cut out the two paper strips.

Both paper strips have dashed lines on them, and fold along those lines.

It will look like a little bridge.

Next, there are three dashed lines along the mouth of the puppet that also need to be folded.

Start by folding the uppermost dashed line. Next, to make things easier, bring the top folded line towards the bottom, aligning the lips. This will make a nice fold along the middle of the mouth dashed line.

Run your fingers across the folds to make them nice and crisp.

Last, fold along the bottom dashed line and you are done with folding.

Flip the puppet around and glue on the paper strips, one on the top.

And the other at the bottom.

And that’s it! The puppet just needs a hand to make it come to life.

Once your kids make one, they will want to make all of these Printable Halloween Finger Puppets.

These really are super fun.
