How to Make Simple Drawings from Circle Shape
What you need:
- paper
- pencil or marker
- our templates (optional)
Step by Step Tutorials
For each of these, start by either printing out our blank circles template, draw a circle by hand, or trace around a round object (paper rolls are perfect).
Apple

Let’s start with something super simple: an apple. Draw a simple stem from the top of the circle.
Draw the leaf next to the stem and add a simple line. Add a little wiggly shape at the bottom, and all that’s left is to color it.
Bat

Super silly bat is next, and you won’t believe how easy it is. Start with two triangles at the top of the ear. Next, a half circle (make it at a slight angle for a sillier look) and a pair of eyes.
Draw two fangs inside the mouth and a curve for the tongue. A pair of goofy feet at the bottom. Finish it with a pair of bat wings and your silly bat goose is done.
Bear

Something a little simpler follows: a friendly bear. Start with two round ears, first outside and then inside. A large half-ellipse at the bottom of the circle will be the base for the snout.
A pair of eyes, a slightly triangular nose, and a simple curve for the mouth. Color everything to make your bear come to life.
Bee

Draw a bee from a circle. Easy peasy. Start with curved lines across the bottom half of the circle. A pair of curvy lines for the antennae at the top.
Draw a cute little face and two circles at the ends of the antennae. Add a triangle for the sting, and you’re done.
Bird

One of the coolest things you can draw from a circle is hands down a cute little bird. Start with a circle and two little triangles by the side to make the beak. A circle for the eye and a half circle for the wings come next.
Two little birdy feet and tail feathers, and you’re done.
Bunny

Bunny rabbit? Easy peasy. Start with three little dots inside your circle, two for the eyes and one for the cute as a button bunny nose. Make the ears next, along with a rounded snout. A pair of bunny teeth is a must as well.
Finish up with the inner shape for the ears, a pair of whiskers on each side, and a few dots on the snout for good taste.
Cat

Meow! The cat is next in line. It is undoubtedly one of your kids’ favorite animals. We made our cat orange, but any other color will do. Start with the ears, curved lines for the eyes, and a simple snout. Add details to finish the eyes.
If you’re going for the stripey cat, draw stripes. Whiskers and a dash of color are also musts.
Clown

Invite silliness into your home with this simple clown drawing. Start by drawing a circle, a triangle hat, and a pair of ears. Easy, right? Next, draw a circle in the middle of your circle. Beep, beep, a clown nose! There is a curved line underneath and a pair of crosses above.
Next, draw an outline for the mouth. Also, add a bow, as a clown absolutely needs one. Two round shapes around the eyes, and all that’s left to do is color in this silly goose.
Cow

Moooove over, it’s time for a cow to come to life. A pair of horns. A large half circle for the snout and a little pair of eyes. Add the ears and two ellipses for the nostrils, and color away.
Crab

Dive into the sea and draw a crab. Another cute animal you can draw from a circle. Start with two circles crossing the large circle to outline your eyes. A half circle for the belly. And a smiley mouth.
Legs and arms follow, finishing up your drawing with a pair of pincers.
Dog

If we made a cat, it’s only fair that we show you how to draw a dog from the circle as well, right? Two long ears, which are super fun to draw. A snout in the middle and two curvy lines on each side. To make our pooch more colorful.
Draw the eyes and the snout and color in the little puppy.
Fish

Another simple drawing from a circle shape is a fish, hands down. Draw a little number 3 (or inverted 3, depending on your chosen side). Next, draw a curved line from top to bottom and a big eye inside it.
Fins and tail, and you’re almost done. A couple of scalloped lines make all the difference and give you more room to use different colors.
Frog

Another fun one is the frog. Start with a circle and two large circles crossing it. Froggy eyes! An upside-down U for the frog’s belly.
Draw pupils inside the eyes, a curved line for the frog’s smile, and a pair of feet. And another pair. Color it in with wonderful greens and draw a pair of nostrils.
Ladybug

The ladybug is one of the easiest animals to draw from the circle. You’ll be done in a minute. Draw a curved line at the top of your circle to separate the body from the head. Next, draw a straight line across the body. It already looks kind of like a bug, doesn’t it?
A pair of eyes and seven black dots. Finish up with six little feet and color in. Cute as a bug!
Lion

Roar! King of the jungle is next. A pair of ears and a U shape, just a little narrower at the top.
A pair of beady eyes and curved eyebrows connecting to the U nose. Two rounded shapes to make the snout. Almost done! A mane around the circle, a little line to make the nose, and a couple of dots to make the lion look even cooler.
Monkey

Ready for some monkey business? The little chimo is next. Two large round ears and a bit hard to describe in words – the shape of the face.
Fill in the ears with a smaller round shape. Add a pair of happy eyes and a mouth. All left is a little number three (lying down) and two spots to make the nose. Color and reward yourself with a banana for a job well done.
Owl

Whoo comes next? An owl, that’s who! This one might be our favorite, as you can make a dozen, all in different colors. Draw a pair of circles inside the circle. Two curves, one on the left and one on the right to make the wings. Two triangles on top for owl “ears.”
Next come the little details. A pair of pupils, little circles for the cute owl feet, and a triangle beak. Add a few lines inside the wings to make coloring more fun. Color!
Penguin

Another bird joins the ranks. This time, we’ll be transforming a circle into a wobbly penguin. A pair of pointy wings and a “sweetheart” neckline shape to get you started.
A pair of eyes, a beak, and little penguin feet.
Pig

Piggy time. You can draw this one with or without legs, without legs being a whole lot easier. Start with an oval inside your circle. A pair of piggy ears. Four lines for the legs, if you are drawing them,
A pair of eyes, two ellipses inside the snout, and a smiley mouth. Finish up the legs, and don’t forget a curled tail.
Rooster

A circle can easily be transformed into a cool little rooster as well.
Rose

A gorgeous rose is a whole lot easier than you think. Start with two leaves on the outside. Then, start drawing rounded triangles inside the circle, one after the other.
Shark

Shark attack! A line across the circle. All the fins. A line of sharp teeth and a pair of eyes. Three lines for the gills, and you’re done.
Snail

Snail is another fun and easy one you can draw from the circle. The circle practically begs you to transform it into a snail’s house. Draw a spiral inside the circle. The house is done. Next comes the body. Add a little mouth and a pair of lines with the eyes on top of it.
Tiger

Another jungle animal to keep the lion and the monkey company. This one is super easy and roarsome. Make a half circle for the snout, a pair of ears, and eyes. Add the strips, all the little details, and color.
Turtle

Last but not least, we have another ocean dweller. Draw a circle inside the circle to start with the shell. Draw the head and the tail. Next, move to the details inside the shell.
Add four feet, a pair of eyes, and color.
