How to Draw Kite Step by Step
This drawing tutorial is perfect for kids of all ages; from preschoolers just learning to draw basic shapes to older kids who want to add their own flair with colorful patterns.

What you need:

Step by Step Kite Drawing Instructions
Step 1
Start with a horizontal line. Draw a simple horizontal. This will be the base structure.
Step 2
Add a vertical line. Now draw a vertical line that crosses through the middle of your horizontal line, creating a cross shape.
Step 3
Draw the top triangle. Starting from the top of the vertical line, draw two diagonal lines that connect down to the ends of your horizontal line, creating a triangle shape on top.
Step 4
Complete the diamond shape. From the ends of your horizontal line, draw two more diagonal lines that meet at a point below, connecting to the bottom of your vertical line. Now you have a complete diamond-shaped kite!
Step 5
Add the connection point. Draw a small circle at the bottom point of your kite. This is where the string will attach to your kite!
Step 6
Draw the bows on the sides. Add cute little bow shapes on the left and right corners of your kite where the horizontal line meets the sides. Draw another bow right below the small circle at the bottom of your kite.
Step 7
Draw the kite string. Starting from the bottom circle, draw a curvy, wavy line going down.
Step 8
Add the tail bows. Draw several small bow shapes along the wavy string.
Step 9
Color your kite! Now for the best part… Adding color! Try red, yellow, blue, and green, or pick any colors you love. Don’t forget to color the bows too!
