How to Draw a Cake Step by Step 

Learning how to draw a cake is easier than one might think. Following these steps, you’ll have a cake to color and decorate in no time! 

What you need:

• our printable drawing guide (optional)
• pencil or black marker
• paper

Step by Step Cake Drawing Instructions

Step 1

Start by drawing a curved line. Almost like a smile. 

Step 2

You are then going to place three rectangles in the middle of the curved line. 

Step 3

Add small sticks to start the flames of the “candles.” Also complete the curved line, almost making it look like a football. 

Step 4

Add three small flames to the candlesticks. Then, finish the top layer cake by adding lines to the sides and bottom. 

Step 5

Start the next part of the cake by drawing a circle underneath. Make sure it’s a tad bit larger than the other layer of the cake. 

Step 6

Add sides and a bottom to the cake! 

Step 7

Next you are going to make a small circle under the cake and then add a larger circle around it. 

Step 8

Now is time for the decor! Add squiggly lines alongside both layers of the cake.

Then, you are going to add two lines across the cake for design.
