How to Make the Halloween Spider Web Craft

What you need:

  • 3 craft sticks or popsicle sticks
  • yarn (black or white works best, but any color will do)
  • black construction paper
  • googly eyes
  • scissors
  • glue (white school glue or glue gun is best)

Step by Step Tutorial

Start by gluing the 3 craft sticks together, one on top of the other. They should to be somewhat evenly spread.

Set the craft sticks aside, while the glue sets.

Let’s make the spider. Cut a small (thumbprint-sized) oval shape from black paper for the body and a small circle for the head.

Glue them together. Also, stick two (or more) googly eyes on the head of the spider.

Cut legs (ideally 8 as spiders have 8 legs).

If the glue on the craft sticks has dried, you can move on to making the spiderweb. Tie one end of the yarn around one craft stick, close to the center.

Start weaving around the craft sticks, either following a pattern or freestyling it – as some spider species have neat and even spider webs and some have them all ower the place.

Continue until you are done with your web. Tie a know at the end and add a dab of glue to secure it.

Tip: you can add a little bit of white school glue at every “turn” to secure the spiderweb yarn.

Stick the spider on the spiderweb.

All done your Halloween spider web craft is complete and ready for hanging.
