Halloween Bats Paper Plate Craft

If you want to make a unique Halloween paper plate craft this Halloween bats paper plate craft is just the thing. Make a moon and embellish it with a bunch of bats cut out of paper.

This is a fun craft that can be made at home or in the classroom; if you are making this with your class it will make the coolest bulletin board display.

You can get very creative when it comes to paper plate crafts, over time we have made quite a few Halloween-themed creations like a regular-looking paper plate bat or a jack-o-lantern that glows up (we do love a unique twist).

This time around, we wanted to make something that can easily double up as an easy kid-made Halloween decoration.

How to Make Halloween Bats Paper Plate Craft

What you need:

• paper plate
• yellow paint
• paintbrush
• black paper
• scissors
• glue

Step by Step Tutorial

This one can be made with mini or regular sized paper plates, the main thing is to have a round paper plate.

Paint the back of the paper plate yellow. Tempera paints or acrylic paints are best to use.

Set the paper plate aside to allow the paint to dry. While the paint dries lets make the bats.

Cut small rectangles in different sizes out of black paper.

Fold each of the rectangles in half and cut out a bat shape, well half shape with the body being at the fold and wings going towards the open part of the folded rectangle.

This way you will get a symmetrical bat.

Apply glue on the bat’s body (you can skip the wings) and stick it on the paper plate.

Repeat with as many bats as you can fit on the paper plate. Some of the bat’s wings can even spread beyond the edge of the paper plate.

Once the glue is dry, you can fold the wings a little to make the whole craft have a more 3D look.

All done your Halloween bats paper plate craft is complete and ready for display.
