What are your kid’s favorite bugs? If you ask them to name 5, we are almost certain ladybugs will make the list, with most kids at least. If ladybugs didn’t make the list (and we’d be surprised about that) we have a ton of other fun bug craft ideas for your kids to explore.

How to Make Easy Folded Paper Ladybugs Craft

What you need:

  • construction paper in various colors
  • scissors
  • glue
  • black marker
  • wiggle eye stickers or googly eyes

Step by Step Tutorial

Prepare all of the supplies.

Cut a small rectangle out of red paper. The dimensions aren’t as important as long as it’s a rectangle. Draw black dots with a marker.

Start folding the paper, making mountain and valley folds along the longer side of the rectagnle.

Once folded all the way to the other side, fold the folded rectangle in half.

Glue or staple the ends together.

Optionally make two ladybugs.

Now cut a small paper circle out of black paper that will serve as a head. Apply a small amount of glue on the circle and stick the folded paper on it, making the body of the ladybug.

Add a pair of googly eye stickers or googly eyes.

Cut two little paper strips (two for each ladybug) out of black paper for the antennae. Curl them and stick them on the head of the ladybug.

Let’s give these ladybugs a scene where they can shine. Cut grass shapes out of green paper.

Also, prepare the background. We made a whit circle for the background.

Glue the paper grass on the circle (or other background shape) and trim the excess if necessary.

To make this one really pop, we also added a blue background.

Apply glue on the back of the ladybug and stick it onto the scene.

Add another and you are done!

We hope your kids will enjoy making this easy folded paper ladybugs craft.
