How to Make Pipe Cleaner Finger Puppets

What you need:

  • 3 pipe cleaners
  • 1 big fuzzy pompom
  • 1 middle-sized pompom
  • 4 small pompoms
  • 2 googly eyes
  • 5 feathers (optional, opt for cruelty free)
  • 5 wooden beads
  • hot glue gun (adult help required) – or low temp glue gun if younger kids are doing this on their won
  • pencil
  • scissors

Step by Step Instructions

Apply some glue on the middle sized pompom…

Step 2-1

… and put the big fuzzy pompom on.

Step 1

Now put some glue on two small pompoms and place them on the middle sized pompom, one next to other.

Step 1-2

Those would be the eyeballs.

Step 1-3

Proceed by adding some glue on the googly eyes and place them on the eyeballs.

Step 1-4

Form a spiral around the pencil using one chenille stick, then cut the spiral in half using scissors.

Step 2

Apply some glue on each of the spiral tops…

Step 2-2

…and put them on the back of the head pointing upwards as if they were bunny ears.

Step 2-3

Then add some glue on the other two pompoms…

…and place them on the top of the chenille spirals.

Step 2-5

Put a feather trough each spiral and seal it with glue.

Step 3

Add two more feathers in the middle and seal with glue, then put one feather in front of the middle ones and seal it with glue.

The head is done.

Form a spiral around a glue stick using one …

Step 4

… then glue that spiral on the middle sized pompom as if it were a neck.

Step 4-1

Take the other pipe cleaner and form two pretzel-like circles around your index and middle fingers.

Step 4-2

Then fold one circle around the pipe cleaner as shown in the pictures bellow…

All the way around.

Step 4-4

… and seal it with glue.

Step 4-5

Weave the wooden beads on the chenille halves, then twist the rest of the chenille halves in a circle.

Step 4-7

Apply some glue on top of the place that’s inside the spiral neck.

Step 4-8

Press with your fingers and hold it until it dries.

Step 4-9

Now glue the end of the spiral beyond the lower bead.

Let it dry.

Step 4-10

Done!

Now you can put your fingers inside the holes and make your silly billy dance, run, tell jokes, sing, mess with someone`s hair, pick flowers from the garden or talk during lunchtime.
