3D Paper Snail Craft

We have the most colorful 3D paper snail craft idea to share with you – a perfect project to do on a rainy day or in the classroom with all of the kids. The colorful snails displayed on the wall of the classroom will really pop out.

This is a great spring craftivity to do with your kids – our printable template makes it easy peasy to do, but you can also use it as an inspiration and make this project without a template. Our guided drawing snail tutorial is just the thing you need.

How to Make the 3D Paper Snail Craft

What you need:

• our printable template
• scissors
• glue
• coloring supplies

Step by Step Tutorial

Print out the template. This project works well with regular print paper, however if you will be using markers we do recommend using cardstock.

Let the kids color in the template. Crayons, pens anything goes!

Cut out all the template parts. Take the snail’s house and cut along the spiral (there is a dashed line to help guide your kids as they cut).

Apply a small amount of glue on the back of the eyes (at the bottom) and stick them on the snail’s body.

Let the glue set.

Take the rectangular strip of paper and fold it along all of the lines.

Apply glue on the designated area and glue the ends together, making a cube.

This cube will keep the snail’s house up.

Stick the cube at the center of the circle on the snail’s body.

This is how your snail should look at this step.

Apply a small amount of glue at the start of the spiral or on a small part of the circle on the snail’s body.

Stick on the house inside the circle on the snail’s body.

All done! Your snail is complete.
