As usual, while the tissue paper is green in the finale, it doesn’t mean that’s what the child has to choose. The fun part of doing arts and crafts is getting to create the colors that are right for THEM. Let them go crazy, creating a memorable Christmas tree they won’t soon forget.

How to Make a Tissue Paper Christmas Treet Paper Plate Craft

What you need:

  • Paper plates
  • Tissue paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • pom poms
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glitter paper

Step by Step Tutorial

You are going to start this fun little craft by taking a paper plate and cutting it. That seems simple enough, doesn’t it?

Go ahead and cut the paper plate in half for starters.

Once you have the paper plate cut in half, you are going to cut it into shapes that look like a piece of pizza or a tree. Simple enough, right?

Take your glue and add it to the backside of the cut paper plate piece.

Gently start adding the tissue paper. A pattern can be made here or you can just choose to place the squares wherever.

Keep layering those tissue squares on top of the glue.

You may need to add some more glue on top of the tissue paper, so you can continue your layering.

As you can see, this craft is starting to look more and more like a tree.

Now you will want to take the popsicle stick and glue it to the back of the paper plate piece.

It’s finally time to add that glittery paper star! The kids are going to have a blast with this part.

Now the kids can decorate the tree.

Red pom poms are the choice decor here, but you can use your imagination.
