Christmas by itself is a truly magical holiday! It’s a time of year that many wonderful childhood memories are made and making Christmas crafts with your kids and doing homemade Christmas cards can greatly add to the magical experience.
These are a quick project, and a hard to fail one so they are great to do in the classroom.
How to Make a Simple Santa Christmas Card
What you need:
- red cardsock paper
- white paper
- black paper
- gold or yellow paper for the buckle
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Let’s start by making a card. Fold a sheet (letter size or A4) in half.
Cut across the fold.
Take one of the halves and fold it in half again. This way you get two cards out of one sheet of paper.
Next cut a strip of white paper (roughly one third of the card, no rules with measurements here).
Glue the paper strip on the card.
Cut a strip of black paper, make it longer than the card width.
Place the black paper on top of your buckle paper (yellow, golden or whatever color you have). Cut out a rectangle from the buckle paper that is wider than the black paper strip.
Now cut off a piece of black paper, it needs to be shorter than the buckle rectangle. Trim if necessary.
Apply glue on the black rectangle and stick it in the center of the buckle.
Stick the black strip of paper on the card, somewhere on the lower half. Cut off any excess.
Apply glue on the back of the buckle and stick it onto the black belt.
Cut two small black circles (or draw them) and stick them on the card.
Open your card and write your note.
