We have the coolest shark week craft to share with you – shark clothespin puppets! These little ocean friends are ready to chomp on everything.
Perfect for summer break or to make the shark week even more fun. They are also a great companion to that one specific song we all know so well.
If shark week is a *thing* in your household or in your class you just have to add these shark clothespin puppets to your “to do” list.
These puppets are insanely easy to make and kids love them. If you have younger kids, these will be great for story time or to help them improve their fine motor skills, while older kids will love playing with them in many imaginary scenarios.
Combine these puppets with any other set from our clothespin series and hours of fun dramatic play is guaranteed.
Who could resist such an adorable (and fierce) looking shark?
How to Make Shark Clothespin Puppets
What you need
- our printable shark puppets template
- clothespin (we recommend a wooden one)
- coloring supplies if you opt for the black and white version
Step by Step Instructions
Start by printing the templates. The heavier the paper, the better (although you could also laminate the puppets).
If you printed the black and white version it’s best to color it before cutting. So go on ahead, have the kids color the puppets with the colors they feel are best for their little sharks.
Next comes the cutting. Cut out the shark outline.
Also cut along the mouth line.
You are almost done! Take the clothespin and apply glue on the gripping area (try not to get the glue inside the gripping area to avoid gluing the clothespin shut).
Stick the top part of the puppet on the top gripping area and the body to the bottom.
Your shark clothespin puppet is ready for play.
