Paper Plate Frog

Let’s make the coolest little paper plate frog craft together. This crafty creation uses one paper plate cut in half in order to make both the frog’s body as well as frog’s head, all leading to the fun looking frog craft your kids will love to make.

If your kids love making crafts with paper plates, they will enjoy making this one.

We made the eyes with large googly eyes, which, while they do look really great on this project, can be easily swapped with white paper (and black marker pupils).

If you are planning on making a spring bulletin board in your classroom, these would look really great.

How to Make the Paper Plate Frog

What You Need:

• pencil
• scissors
• glue stick
• paper plate
• colored paper (red and two shades of green)
• green paint (acrylic, watercolors, or any other)
• paintbrush
• two big googly eyes
• black marker

Step by Step Tutorial

You will need one paper plate to make the frog’s body and frog’s head.

Have the kids paint it green.

Allow the paint to dry.

Cut the paper plate in half.

Flip the pieces so the rounded edges overlap, then glue them together.

Cut out two big green circles from darker green paper and glue them on the top part of the paper plate.

Add large googly eyes or eyes made with white paper.

Then, have them draw a smiling mouth and two nostrils with a black marker.

Have kids cut a rounded strip from red paper and attach it to the mouth.

The frog now needs two pairs of legs.

Have kids cut out two front legs from lighter green paper and glue them to the body.

Draw and cut two back frog legs from green papers.

Tip: Draw a number two to help design the legs.

Then, have them glue the back legs to each side of the body.

And so our paper plate frog is done!
