Giraffes are really cool. Their long necks are trully impressive.
And did you know that each giraffe has its own spot patterns?
So, we thought about making a giraffe project.
Are you ready to craft with us?
How to Make a Giraffe Toilet Paper Roll Craft
What you need:
- 2 toilet paper rolls (different sizes)
- scissors
- glue
- hot glue
- brown, pink and orange-yellowish acrylic colors
- brush
- googly eyes
- 2 black chenille sticks and 5 brown chenille sticks
- white cardstock
Let’s start!
Step by Step Instructions
Cut 1/3 of the smaller toilet paper roll.
Next cut 1/3 of the bigger paper roll.
Cut the 2/3 of the bigger paper roll in half.
Take one half and put some glue on one edge.
Glue the ends together.
Put some glue on all three paper rolls and wrap them in white cardstock.
Tongue
Cut out a tongue piece from the toilet paper roll left outs.
Color the tongue with pink acrylic color.
Paint the giraffe parts in orange-yellowish acrylic color.
Body
Take the body and make spots using brown acrylic color. You could also make them in rainbow colors, just like we did on this giraffe canvas art.
Neck
Take the neck piece and make brown spots.
Head
For the face, paint one brown stripe and two dots.
Cut out two cardboard circles.
Glue the googly eyes on and add two cardboard circles as a nose.
Glue the tongue on.
Apply some hot glue and attach the neck to the body.
Put some hot glue on top of the neck and add the head.
Mane
Take two chenille sticks, attach them together and make a long zig-zag form.
Attach the zig-zag form using hot glue.
Tail
Bend one chenille stick in half, start twisting the ends and leave a circle on the other side.
That would be the tail. Attach the tail on the body.
Horns
Make two giraffe horns using chenille stick and attach them on the head.
Legs
Make 4 legs by twisting black and brown chenille sticks together.
Glue the legs on the body.
Done!
