Let the kids use their fingers as paintbrushes and make this adorable fingerprint Christmas ornament card – it’s such a sweet and personal homemade card. And most importantly, it’s easy to make!
You can use up any ribbon from the gifts you have received or, if you don’t have any at hand, swap the ribbon with a drawn line (black marker works out great).

You don’t have to use fingerprints at all if your kids don’t like painting with fingers. Q-tips or a pencil with an eraser works out incredibly well for this project.

You can play with colors as well – make it as colorful as you want or even stick to only one color.
How to Make the Fingerprint Christmas Ornament Card
What you need:
- scissors
- glue
- construction paper (brown and white)
- white paper
- ink pads – various colors (you can also use finger paints)
- red ribbon
Step by Step Tutorial
Have your kids fold a brown construction paper in half to create a card.
Cut out a white square that’ll be the canvas for your kids’ mini masterpieces.
Let your little ones dive into the fun part – finger painting!
They can begin with red paint (or any other) and watch as they create tiny dots on the white square.
it’s time to get creative with different colors.
Why not add some blues and greens.
We added a bunch of more colors.
Just remember to let it dry before moving on.
Once the paint is dry, cut out a circle from the colorful square.
It will be the Christmas bauble for the card.
Have your kids glue the bauble to the front center of the card.
Grab a red strip of ribbon and have your kids glue it on the card on top of the ornament.
Trim any excess ribbon.
You can also make a cute bow from the red ribbon and glue it to the top of the ornament.
