How to Make the Easy Paper Santa Craft

What you need:

  • pencil
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • color paper (red, pale yellow, pink)
  • white paper
  • black marker
  • white chalk marker

Step by Step Tutorial

The Base

Have kids cut out a longer rectangle from white paper and use a ruler to draw a few lines to the bottom with a pencil. We drew seven lines.

Step 1

The Hat

Have them cut a triangle out of red paper – one side should be as broad as the white paper (the beard) is.

Step 2

The Face

Have kids cut out a rounded edge off a pale yellow rectangle and glue it to the top part of the white paper.

Step 3

Have them glue the hat to the top.

Step 4

The Eyes

Our Santa needs eyes – have children cut out two smaller white circles and glue them to the face.

Step 5

Using a black marker, have them draw two dots to the eyes.

Step 6

To make the eyes more realistic, have kids use a white chalk marker and draw two dots to each eye.

Step 7

The Nose

Have them cut an oval shape from pink paper and glue it to Santa’s face as the nose.

Step 8

Hat Decoration

To make the hat extra pretty, have them cut circles from white paper and glue them along the edge of the hat and Santa’s face.

They’ll look even more remarkable if the circles overlap.

Step 9

Spare one circle for the tip of the hat.

Step 10

The Beard

Have kids cut along the lines of the beard.

Step 11

Now, have them use a pencil to swirl each strip onto the pencil gently.

Step 12

Continue to the face.

Step 13

Have them create these swirls on each second section of the beard.

Step 14

Now, let’s add an extra layer of charm!

Have children repeat the swirl-making process with the alternating strips, gently swirling them beneath the others for a beautiful effect.

Step 15

To give the beard a fuller appearance, add another beard by repeating the previous steps.

This time, have kids make the swirls slightly lower than on the first beard.

Step 16

Then, have them glue the second beard part to the back of the Santa.
