We are head over heels for all the cute turkey in disguise printable projects we prepared for you – this particular one is reaching for the stars (and it just might be our favorite). The little stars that your kids can glue to disguise the tail feathers make all the difference.

Disguise a turkey is one of the most fun turkey crafts your kids can make for Thanksgiving. It’s creative and it encourages writing (we included writing prompts to make this activity an educational one).
When making this one, you can also take an opportunity to talk about the important astronauts… Or encourage kids to make one that looks just like Buzz Lightyear if your kids are fans of Toy Story.
How to Make the Astronaut Turkey Disguise
What you need:
- astronaut turkey disguise printout (free astronaut printable available at the end of the tutorial; you can also get the whole set with over 25 outfits)
- coloring supplies
- scissors
- glue
We printed ours on heavier print paper/cardstock, regular paper is OK as well.
Step by Step Tutorial
Have the kids grab their favorite coloring supplies; be it crayons, markers or anything else – all will work with this printout.
One sheet has to be colored to look like a normal turkey. Various brown, orange, red and yellow colors work really well for this.
Fold along the dashed line and set this sheet aside.
Now it’s time for the disguise. Color the tail of the turkey to look like the space; black or blue are perfect for this.
Color the disguise. Cut out the disguise parts as well as the turkey where you colored the tail to look like space.
Put on the disguise. Apply glue on each part and stick it on the turkey.
First comes the suit.
Followed by the helmet and boots.
To make the disguise even more convincing, add the stars on the tail feathers.
Take the sheet with the regular turkey that you previously folded. Apply glue on the fold, just on the area bellow the turkey’s belly.
Take the turkey in astronaut disguise and stick it on top of the folded sheet of paper – position it in a way that it covers the turkey underneath.
All done! Now this turkey can put an astronaut disguise on at any time…
…as well as take it off when the disguise isn’t needed.
