How to Make the Craft Stick Frog Craft
What you need:
- paper roll (toilet paper or paper towel roll)
- craft sticks
- cardboard circle (same diameter as the paper roll)
- paintbrush
- craft paint (light green and dark green)
- hot glue gun
- paper (green, white, black, and pink)
- chenille stick (pipe cleaner)
- pencil
- scissors
- white school glue or hot glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Start by painting the craft sticks, so they’re dry and set for crafting. If you want to skip this step, some craft supply stores carry pre-painted.
If you want to make a pencil holder, you will need to close up one end of the paper roll. It’s best to do this first. Glue the cardboard circle at the bottom (for this we do recommend hot glue gun).
Apply hot glue to the edge of the paper roll.
Stick the circle to the bottom and wait for it to set.
Hot glue and white school glue are equally effective for this project, so if you are working with younger kids, do go with white school glue.
Apply a line of glue on the paper roll.
Stick a craft stick to it.
Repeat by adding another craft stick next to it.
All the way around.
Fold a piece of green paper in half and draw a frog foot shape.
Cut it out to get two matching feet.
Apply glue to the ends of each foot.
Attach the feet so they peek out.
Cut two white circles for the eyes and smaller black circles for the pupils. Glue them on top of the frog’s body.
Optionally, you can use googly eyes.
Cut two small pink circles and glue them onto the frog.
Bend a short piece of chenille stick (pipe cleaner) slightly.
Glue it to form a happy, froggy grin. You can also draw the mouth with a marker.
