How to Make the Craft Stick Butterfly Craft
What you need:
- scissors
- glue
- craft stick
- craft paint (yellow)
- paintbrush
- chenille sticks (yellow and red)
- googly eyes
- black colored paper
- black marker
Step by Step Tutorial
Start by grabbing a craft stick.
Have kids paint the craft stick yellow, or let them pick their favorite color. This is their butterfly after all!
Take a red chenille stick, make a loop at one end, and wrap it around the craft stick once to create the first wing.
Make a second loop with the remaining chenille stick and wrap it to finish off the second wing.
Now grab a yellow chenille stick and repeat the process – make a loop and wrap it around the craft stick just below the red wings.
Make another loop with the remaining yellow chenille stick to finish off the second set of wings
Now the butterfly is really taking shape!
Cut two small antennae from black colored paper and glue them onto the top of the craft stick.
Glue on two googly eyes, draw on a little smile with a black marker, and the butterfly is complete!
