If your latest package arrived with a bit of bubble wrap, you may be wondering what to do with it. Make this bubble wrap turtle craft for kids, it’s a fun one, and your kids will love working with bubble wrap! Also, popping the bubbles is allowed.
It’s super fun and easy to make, and it’s a great idea for recycling bubble wrap.

Turtles are an excellent subject for making summer crafts with your kids, but they can be made all year round as well, especially if you have a pet turtle or are talking about various reptiles.
Bubble wrap is a great material for making them as its texture is perfect for making the turtle’s shells.

How to Make the Bubble Wrap Turtle Craft
What you need:
- pencil
- scissors
- glue stick
- green cardstock
- bubble wrap
- green paint
- paintbrush
- black marker
- two googly eyes
Step by Step Tutorial
The Body
Have kids draw a circle on a green cardstock. This can be freehanded or to make things easier have the kids trace a round object on the paper (a small plate works great).
The Legs, Head, and Tail
They’ll then draw four legs – two on each side of the circle, the head on top, and a tiny tail at the bottom of the circle.
Kids can cut out the shape using scissors.
The Bubble Wrap Shell
It’s time to use bubble wrap! Use the same stencil to make the circle out of the bubble wrap as you did for the turtle’s body.
Apply glue only to the circle shape and glue on the bubble wrap circle.
We made the shell of our turtle green, your kids can use any color they like and paint the shell with it.
The Face
Have the kids draw a tiny mouth with a black marker.
And apply two googly eyes to the turtle’s face.
Yay! The bubble wrap turtle craft is complete!
