Pumpkins! Let’s make a raffia wrapped pumpkin! This craft project is great for kids and grown ups a like as it makes a pretty fancy fall decoration too.
What’s really great about this craft is that you’ll make it in no time so it’s perfect for beginner crafter as well as those that don’t have the nerves for long crafting sessions.
Raffia Wrapped Pumpkins
What you need:
3.25″ wood circles
orange raffia
green felt
green pipe cleaners/chenille stems
scissors
glue gun safe for kids (they operate at a low temperature and kids love working with them – and more and more preschools use them)
Directions:
Using raffia, wrap the wood circle once and affix with hot glue to hold. Continue to wrap the circle. I wrap around 3-5 times before changing directions. You may need to add a dab of hot glue to the back of your circle every now and again to keep your raffia from slipping. When happy with your finished project, glue on back with hot glue and cut raffia.
Cut a pipe cleaner in half. Wrap around a pencil or other cylinder shape to create a spring.
Using green felt, cut out a stem shape.
Attach the stem and pipe cleaner vine onto the back of your pumpkins..
