Time for another puppet to play with – grab this printable snowman puppet and have some fun with your kids!

This printable snowman puppet is really easy to make and what’s even more important really fun to play with afterwards. Chatty kids? Chatty puppets?
It is a great addition to story time, especially if your kids love reading (or being read to) books about snowmen.
As these are easy to make (and there are both video and photo tutorials available) this is a great project to make in the classroom – easy and frugal.

How to Make a Printable Snowman Puppet Using our Template
What you need:
- our printable snowman puppet template (this one is a freebie and you can grab the template at the end of this tutorial – if you want more puppets though we have a pack of 25 puppets ready for you)
- printer
- paper (we do recommend heavier print paper as it’s easier to color with markers and will be more durable but regular print paper works out great as well)
- coloring supplies (crayons, markers, pencils – whatever your kids like using the most)
- scissors
- glue

Print out the snowman puppet template (you can get it at the end of the tutorial).
Color in the template. On the sheet of paper with the puppet you only need to color in the middle section.
Also color the accessories (hat, carrot and twigs). There are two sets of accessories on one sheet, you only need one per puppet (we added two sets for easier classroom printing).
Fold along all the dashed lines on the sheet with the puppet.
Both horizontal and vertical lines need to be folded.
Make sure the folds are crisp, we usually run a craft stick across each fold to really make them sharp.
Unfold. Turn the puppet upside, down, the snowman face facing the table.
Turn over the side that has the word glue on it and apply glue (from top to bottom).
Fold the other third of the sheet over and press down for the glue to set.
Now fold the puppet into a M shape, if your folds are crisp this should be easy peasy, if not you will need to reinforce the folds a bit.
Cut out the accessories.
Glue on the carrot for the nose.
Fold the rectangle under the hat (where the hat and the rectangle meet), apply glue on the rectangle and stick the hat on the snowman.
Lastly stick on the twigs to complete your snowman.
Insert your fingers into the puppet and have fun!
Make as many as you want!
