You have probably seen many documentaries about animals haven’t you?
What do you think of the animals there, aren’t they cute, funny and interesting, making silly faces, smiling and poking their tongues out?
Have you seen that?
We keep a tiny fuzzy cat and a fluffy bunny at our house. It is a strange combination, but they get along well.
When making this project why not start a fun conversation about animals with your kids or students. What are some of your favorite animals? Why do you like those animals? Can you draw and color them?
Do you maybe keep any of those at your house?
The more questions the better!
Now how about about making animal clip bookmarks? These are frugal and easy, and fun!
Gather your tools and let’s start.
How to Make DIY Paper Clip Bookmarks
What you need:
- our printable template (grab it at the end of the tutorial)Animal Bookmarks
- 10 big paper clips in different colors (we used 5cm ones for this project)
- colored pencils or crayons
- white cardstock
- hot glue gun (low temperature glue gun for younger kids) – always have a grown up supervise using the glue gun and scissors.
- scissors
Step by Step Instructions
Print out the animals on a white cardstock and cut the animals out as shown on the picture.
Use your colored pencils…
…and color all of the animals. Crayons or markers will work out just as well.
If you have a younger group of children making this project, we do recommend you have them color the images before you cut them out.
Apply some glue on the top of each paper clip and put the animal on.
Flip the paper animal, then seal with some glue on the backside.
Wait for the glue to dry.
Done!
Now, you probably have your favorite illustrated storybook somewhere in your home, huh?
Go and put the paper animal clips we made today on the pages, or on the book covers.
That is where all paper animal clips live – on story books.
That is their place, their home zoo.
Happy coloring and stay tuned for more!
Have fun!
