Santa Claus wouldn’t be complete without Mrs. Claus. A lively snowman is also a must.

How to Make Printable Christmas Puppets

What you need:

  • our printable template
  • coloring supplies (optional)
  • scissors
  • glue

Step by Step Tutorial

We used regular print paper for making these puppets; however, you can also use cardstock, as this will make the puppets more durable.

Let the kids color in the puppets.

Tip: if using regular print paper, avoid using markers as they will wet and wrinkle the paper.

Cut out the puppet – follow the dashed lines.

Don’t forget to cut out Santa’s mustache and the two paper strips needed to make the puppet work.

Next comes the folding. There are three dashed lines inside the Santa and other puppets’ mouths.

Make folds along all those lines. Once folded, the Santa’s mouth will be closed.

Glue on Santa’s nose! Most puppets don’t come with extra details, but Santa and Gnome have mustaches that need to be added (and that makes the puppets look extra cool).

We are almost done! Let’s make the handles for these printable Christmas puppets. Make folds along dashed lines on both paper strips.

Apply glue on the designated area and stick the paper strip handle on the back of the puppet.

One goes on the top side (of the back side of the puppet) – making an arch as you glue the handle.

And the other goes to the bottom.

Allow the glue to dry, and your puppet is ready to go.

Now it’s time to make even more of these printable Christmas puppets.
