How to Make a Paper Weaving Christmas Tree Card

What you need:

  • supplies for decorating the tree
  • glue
  • scissors
  • markers
  • craft stick

Step by Step Tutorial

Take a piece of blue construction paper and cut it into a card-sized rectangle. You can then fold it in half.

Take a red cut piece of construction paper and glue it to the top of the blue piece.

As you can see, it’s going to set a nice background for this Christmas tree.

Go ahead and start on the weaving part because this is the most intricate part of the craft. Choose two pieces of construction paper, both different colors.

Don’t cut all the way, but start cutting straight lines up and down the piece of paper.

Do this for both sets of papers.

Put some glue on one part of the construction paper.

Now glue the other cut piece of construction paper to it. Make sure they are going in the opposite directions.

Fold the pieces back to make weaving a lot easier and to keep them out of your way as you weave.

Now you can start weaving!

Complete the weave until it looks like the picture below.

Now you will cut out the tree template.

Glue the tree template.

Place it on the weave paper that you did.

Go ahead and cut out the tree and the weave together.

As you can see, the tree looks amazing and is ready to go on the card.

Take a small brown rectangle and glue it to the red and blue paper as a tree stump.

As you can see, the tree is coming together. Now you can add the star to the top of the tree.

You can tree this Paper Weaving Christmas Tree Card in different colors. Have fun with it!
