You can make a ton of wonderful Christmas crafts out of paper plates – they are ideal for making trees and as you will see in this tutorial, for making cute reindeer.
Add a red nose to make Rudolph the reindeer or keep the nose brown to make a regular looking reindeer. We used paper to make the reindeer noses but pom poms would look pretty cool too.
How to Make the Reindeer Paper Plate Craft
What you need:
- paper plate
- brown construction paper
- white paper
- black marker
- red paper
- brown paint
Step by Step Tutorial
Start by painting the paper plate brown.
If this is a classroom project, cut the paper plate first and have the kids paint the triangles.
Cut the paper plate in half.
Cut the half in half again.
Next cut a red (or brown) circle. You can also use a hole puncher for this.
Also cut two circles out of white paper.
Stick the red circle at the tip of the paper plate triangle.
Stick the white circles on the paper plate too.
Draw eyes inside the white circles with a black marker.
Cut antlers out of brown construction paper.
Stick them on the paper plate.
All done! You have made your very own reindeer paper plate craft.
If you want, you can have the kids add the ears too.
