Doily Angel Craft Idea

How to Make the Doily Angel Craft

What you need:

  • marker
  • scissors
  • glue
  • white doily
  • white paper
  • color paper (two shades of brown, dark red, and blue)
  • construction paper for the background (we used brown)

Step by Step Tutorial

Prepare construction paper for the background. If you are making a card, fold it in half.

Step 1

Glue a slightly smaller (blue) piece of paper onto construction paper. This will really make this project stand out.

Step 2

Prepare a white doily.

Step 3

Fold the doily in half and cut along the fold.

Step 4

Take on half of the doily, and fold it into a triangle (make two folds, so that doily half is folded into 3 roughly equal parts).

Step 5

Fold them to get a triangle shape. Flatten it (apply glue inside to hold it in place).

Step 6

Glue the folded doily to the paper, but don’t glue the top part as we’ll be sliding the wings under it a little later on.

Step 7

Take the other half of the doily, fold in half and cut along the fold.

Step 8

This will be the wings of our angel.

Step 9

We are creating the angel’s wings.

Step 11

Fold one of the halves in half again and cut.

Step 12

Stack the two parts, one on top of the other.

Trim the wings a little (don’t cut the laccey edge, just the pointy part).

Step 14

Glue the wings to the sides of the angel’s body.

Step 15

Next, let’s make the hair. Glue a larger color rectangle on top of the angel’s body.

Step 16

Then, cut a smaller white circle for the head and glue it.

Step 17

Add a smaller rectangle on top, to make the hair look fancier.

Step 18

Cut or draw the halo. Metalic markers are perfect for the job.

Step 20

Draw the angel’s eyes and mouth with a black marker.

Step 21

Also you can have the kids draw hands (or make them from paper)

Step 22

And that’s all!
