Paper Collage Christmas Tree Craft
What you need:
- 8 ½” x 11” white cardstock
- patterned paper/cardstock
- glue stick
- scissors
Step by Step Instructions
You can use construction paper or any other type of colorful paper you have on hand, gift wrap would be pretty as well.
I raided my scrapbooking craft stash for these Christmas colors of cardstock and I love the extra texture the patterns added.
If you like the look you can grab these at your craft store inexpensively and they are often on sale.
Cut your colored paper into strips ½” wide with scissors or a paper slicer and then cut into varying lengths from 2” to the longest pieces being no longer than 8”.
Cut out a simple star shape from yellow paper and a brown trunk, paste trunk to the bottom of the white cardstock, you can use regular printer paper but the cardstock is so much more durable.
Provide your child with a glue stick…
…and demonstrate for them how to place the strips from the trunk up from largest to smallest (or just let them go crazy, wonky trees are welcome).
Glue on a yellow paper star to the top of the tree and your pretty and simple kids collage Christmas tree is ready to display!
