How to Make Paper Chain Snake Craft

What you need:

  • pencil
  • scissors
  • glue
  • color paper (red and two shades of green)
  • black marker
  • white liner

Step by Step Tutorial

Cut out strips of paper. The size of them doesn’t really matter; the only important thing is that they are all the same lenght.

Step 1

Start with one strip of paper and make the first chain part. Apply glue to one end of a paper strip, roll it and glue the ends together.

Step 2

Then, roll it and secure it to form a chain part.

Step 3

Take the next one (if using two colors, this should be the other colored one). Push it through the first one and apply glue on one end.

Step 4

(You can also apply glue before sliding it in if this feels easier, as you can apply glue with the paper strip on the surface).

Step 5

Press the ends together for the glue to set.

Step 6

Continue adding more paper rolls to the chain.

Step 7

Add more, and keep on adding until you are happy with the length of your snake.

Step 8

Draw a tail tip shape on a paper strip.

Step 9

Cut it out carefully.

Step 10

Then, slide it through the last loop.

Step 11

Glue it in place.

Step 13

Let’s make the head. We want the head to be a little bigger, so use a wider paper strip than you did with the body paper strips.

Step 14

Draw a snake head with a pencil on one side. Make sure the snake’s “neck” is drawn at the fold.

Step 15

And cut it out.

Add eyes and nostrils with a marker.

Step 16

You can also use googly eyes.

Step 17

Cut a thin red paper strip for the tongue and glue it inside the snake’s mouth.

Step 18

Slide the head through the other end of the paper chain and secure it with glue.

Step 19

Let the glue dry completely before showcasing your fun, creative paper chain snake craft!
