When it comes to Halloween crafts as well as paper plate crafts, nothing beats making something you can either wear or play with, and this craft has it all.

How to Make the Paper Plate Mask (Bear)

What you need:

  • pencil
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • color paper  (bear: yellow, green, light, and dark brown; peacock: yellow and light blue)
  • paper plate
  • tape
  • acrylic paint (bear: brown; peacock: blue)
  • paintbrush
  • craft stick

Step by Step Tutorial

Cut the paper plate in half.

Step 1

Paint it with brown acrylic paint.

Step 2

Draw ears on brown paper, and cut them out.

Step 3

Draw inner ears on light brown.

Step 4

Cut out the inner ears and glue them into the outer ears.

Step 5

Draw the face on body-coloured paper.

Step 6

Continue by drawing a nose and mouth with black marker.

Step 7

Draw the eyes on the mask, then cut them out.

Step 8

Glue the ears onto the head. You can make the ears as close together or as far apart as you’d like.

Step 9

Glue the nose and mouth onto the head of the bear.

Step 10

Draw eyebrows with a black marker. The kids can get a little more creative with the eyebrows if they want.

Step 11

Glue the craft stick with tape. You can also tape the stick to the back of the mask.

Step 12

This Paper Plate Mask is ready to be put to good use with your child’s imagination.
