This project will entertain you all day long.
It is a paper spinner and you won’t need many supplies to make it.
How to Make a Paper Spinner
What you need:
- color pencils
- scissors
- heavyweight cardboard
- glue
- yarn
- a toothpick or any other tool with a sharp tip
Let’s start!
Step by Step Instructions
Print out the spinner shapes from the provided template and cut them out.
If you choose to use the black and white versions, just color the spinners with color pencils.
Measure and cut a circle shape out of the heavyweight cardboard.
Apply some glue on both sides of the cardstock and glue the circles on.
Make two small holes on each side of the circle center using a toothpick.
Punch the holes nicely.
They should be approximately 1 cm apart from each other.
Thread the yarn through the holes …
… and tie a firm knot on one side of it.
The yarn should be between 35 cm and 40 cm long.
Done!
Now the tricky part is to get the spin going.
Start making fast circle movements with your hands to spiral/twirl the yarn in fast motion.
After you get the spin going, relax your moves and start bringing the hands closer and further apart so you reload the spinner.
You will be mesmerised watching the colors and shapes meld as it spins.
What an interesting project huh?
You can make more of these spinners and give them to your friends so you all can play and laugh together.
See you soon! Stay tuned for more easy-peasy crafts!
