Have you ever been to an aquarium? What are your favorite creatures to see there? Our favorite is the “monsters of the deep” – octopus.
They have eight tentacles and a bulbous head. And did you know that they have three hearts and nine brains?
How awesome is that?
When they are threatened, they shoot an inky fluid from their body that confuses the aggressor.
That way they have time to swim away fast.
They also change colors and camouflage around rocks in the ocean.
The octopuses we are going to show you today are super tiny, super cheeky and super simple to make.
They can do no harm if you hold them, they do not shoot inky fluid and they smile a lot so they will bring brightness to your homes.
How to Make an Easy Paper Octopus Craft
What you need:
- blue cardstock
- scissors
- color papers
- two googly eyes
- glue
- a circle puncher
- black liner
- pink color pencil
Let’s craft!
Step by Step Instructions
Cut an 8×8 square out of the blue cardstock.
Using your scissors, cut 1 cm wide lines.
Be careful to leave 1 cm space at the end and not cut through the cardstock completely.
Start rolling the stripes up to form the tentacles…
… until you come to the last one.
Put some glue on one end and close the circle.
Take the circle puncher and punch a circle on the color paper.
Cut ¼ of that circle.
That will be the head.
Apply some glue on it and attach it to the tentacles.
Glue 2 googly eyes on the head.
Draw a smile using a black liner.
Draw two cheeks with the pink color pencil.
All done!
Easy-peasy, right?
Where will you place them now?
That is all for today.
