And the fact that this disguise can be put on and off at will makes it all even more exciting.
How to Make the Turkey in Cowboy Disguise
What you need:
- our printable template (you can grab the Cowboy outfit printout for free at the end of the tutorial, or get the whole set with over 25 outfits).
- coloring supplies (markers or crayons are best)
- scissors
- glue
Step by Step Tutorial
Print the template.
Have the kids color the base sheet, the one with the rectangle above the turkey or the one that has the words “I am not a turkey, I am…” written above with colors that will make it look like a regular turkey.
Take the prinout with just the turkey on it. This is where we will make our disguise. Have the kinds think about how they want their disguise to look and color it accordingly.
We colored the tail of our turkey with green color to look like a tree in the background and the body in skin tone.
Also color the disguise parts. Cut out the disguise parts and the turkey you colored.
Glue on the disguise parts, we started with pants.
Added the shirt.
A bandana…
And a cowboy’s hat.
Now take the sheet where you colored the turkey with regular turkey colors. Fold along the dashed line on that printout.
Apply glue on the middle of the folded part.
And stick the turkey disguised as a cowboy on top.
All done!
Your kids can now put on the disguise or take it off at will.
Add the writing papers and encourage your kids to write about the disguise.
