Recycle toilet paper rolls or kitchen paper towel rolls and make this cool Crab Toilet Paper Roll Craft. This is a wonderful summer craft for kids and it looks so fun.
Have your kids make crabs in all the colors of the rainbow.
Today we present to you a super duper summer craft – a crab.
We love watching crabs minding their own business sitting on rocks and enjoying life.
And what we love more is making awesome crab projects.
We made a red and blue crab but these cute creatures would look great in any color.
How to Make a Crab Toilet Paper Roll Craft
What you need:
- 2 pipe cleaners (we used red sticks for the red crab and black sticks for the blue crab. We recommend using black ones because they make better contrast)
- toilet paper roll
- glue (hot glue recommended)
- black liner
- red cardstock
- white cardstock
- ruler with circle shapes
- red acrylic color or any color you want
Step by Step Instructions
Take the toilet paper roll and cover it with craft paint.
Draw two chelipeds on the red cardstock. Use the ruler with circle shapes.
Cut out the chelipeds and outline them with the black liner.
Draw two big eyes.
Take one pipe cleaner stick and cut two large parts and two smaller ones.
Take the second pipe cleaner stick and cut four equal parts.
Glue the two smaller pipe cleaner parts vertically on the paper roll as shown on the picture.
Take the bigger chenille parts and glue them as arm segments on each side of the paper roll.
Glue two chenille parts on each side as shown on the picture. Those would be the legs.
Draw a smiling mouth using the black liner.
Apply some glue and attach the eyes on.
Apply some glue on the chelipeds and attach them on the arm segments.
We really really love how this crab turned out.
It is our favorite so far.
Hope you enjoyed making this project.
Now go and have fun playing with your crab friend.
