How to Make a Chick Pop Up Card

What you need:

  • our printable craft template
  • red cardstock (other colors are fine too)
  • print paper (regular or heavy)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • coloring supplies if you printed the black and white templates

Step by Step Instructions

Print out the template.

If you printed the black and white one, have the kids color in the chick.

Cut out the template – cut along the outer line (rectangle).

There is a dashed line running across the template – fold along that dashed line (with the design on the outside).

Now let’s take a look at the straight line in the middle of the beak.

Cut along that line.

There are two diagonal dashed lines going along the beak, fold along those lines.

Make the folds nice and crisp.

Now open up the card.

Push your fingers (from the back) through the beak and slowly start closing the card.

Nice and easy, so that all parts fall in place.

Run your fingers across the folds to make them crisper.

Stick the folded card into the red card (made out of card stock paper). First one side…

Then apply glue on the other side (of the template) and close the card and wait for the glue to set.

All done! Your Chick Pop Up Card is complete.
