We’ve got a wonderful project for all the felt lovers out there – grab out carrot treat pouch Easter felt pattern and make the most adorable Easter treat holder ever.
These are incredibly easy to sew together, and with just a few basic stitches they make a great project even for kids to make.
This felt project is perfect to make if you want to introduce your kdis to sewing – it’s easy, doesn’t require a lot of sewing and a basic stitch is used. Not to mention you end up with the most wonderful little end product.
Carrot Treat Pouch Easter Felt Pattern
What you need:
- orange felt
- light green felt
- dark green felt
- scissors
- thread
- needle
- felt glue
- pencil
- template (you can grab it at the end of tutorial)
Instructions
Print the template. Cut out the shapes and trace them onto the felt – carrot shape on orange felt, leaf patterns on green – smaller on dark green and bigger on light green. You can also cut small circles as decorations (totally optional) from different colors of scrap felt.
Place the smaller of the carrot shaped felts and place it on top of the bigger one – try to align the shapes as much as possible. If working with younger kids, you can add a bit of felt glue on the edges, to hold the shapes in place while your little ones will do their sewing.
Stitch the pieces together. You can use a blanket stitch (you can see it in this felt seahorse tutorial) or with a basic running stitch (just go over and under with the thread).
Stitch all the way around of the edges, but leave the top open. As you get to the end, tie a knot.
Add a bit of felt glue to the bottom of the larger leaf and stick it on the back of the carrot pouch.
Do the same with the smaller one, gluing it to the front of the carrot pouch.
Stitch them together.
All done!
If you want to fancy it up a bit, glue a few felt dots on the carrot.
